The Hard Rock Hotel Bali is 20 years old this year, and looks amazing. But unlike most mega-stars it’s happy to admit to having recently had some work done. In fact, it’s more than happy, it’s positively proud, and you only have to look at the results to know why.
All Premium Rooms have been completely renovated. Fabulous two storey Lofts are more gadget-packed, original and sleekly designed than ever. And at a vast 64m², the hotel’s re-imagined Roxity Family suites now have a master bedroom, living room, and separate kids room.
Direct access to the Chill-Out Pool adds extra luxe to newly refurbished Deluxe Premium Rooms. Then there’s the ultimate indulgence of Luxury Kids Suites: every little wannabe diva’s dream from fairy-tale murals to cute bunkbeds, heaps of entertainment options, and opulent, kid-size bathrooms – don’t worry, parents have their own space, and decadent en-suites too.
But since Hard Rock Bali was Asia’s first ever Hard Rock Hotel, continues to rule the legendary Kuta entertainment district, and doesn’t have a cut-off point when it comes to phenomenal fun: you can depend on brilliant new bedrooms being far from the only reason it still rocks family holidays like a legend, even after 20 years.
Balmy Kuta isn’t short on beautiful pools, golden sands and gorgeous tropical gardens, but only Hard Rock has all that and the largest free-form pool in Bali for good measure. More like a series of enormous lagoons than a mere swimming space, it’s surrounded by 22 luxurious cabanas, a poolside bistro and the perfect number of thoughtfully spread out sun loungers.
There’s even a private, sand-drenched island right in the middle, which doubles up as a stage or beach volleyball pitch, when it isn’t being used for peaceful sunbathing. Little big-fish have their own pool, complete with waterslides, chutes and full-time supervision. So you get to ease up on surveillance, chill a little and remind yourself that parents deserve holidays too.
Roxity is the Hard Rock Bali kids’ club that could lead to abandonment issues: yours, not theirs. It’s a parent-free zone, just for four to 12 year olds, and unless you can come good on eight hours of non-stop entertainment all holiday long, you simply can’t compete.
With 252m² of space to call their own, teens rule at TABU Teen Club. Designed more like a cool club than a kids club, even the trickiest to please over 13s are keen to hang here and have everything from resident DJs to live music, chill zones and even a private cinema to keep boredom at bay.
Hard Rock have been pampering plates for decades and Hard Rock Hotel Bali uphold the grand tradition with eight fantastic restaurants, 24-hour room service, and poolside bistros. You can even have entertainment as you eat, peace and serenity for a romantic night-off parenting duty, or family-style day and night, if that’s more your thing.
Between a great location at the heart of glittering Kuta Strip and a genetic predisposition to rock good times like almost nowhere else, Hard Rock Hotel Bali just can’t help but bring it on the entertainment front. And here entertainment covers all bases, from fantastic water sports and surf lessons to foam parties and family cycling.
