Wilderness Festival returns to Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire on 1 to 4 August for a weekend of its wholesome hedonism, and is set to be even more of a cosmic, family-friendly dreamland than ever.
Wilderness Festival: helping families make great memories this summer
We love a family-friendly festival, and if you’ve never been to Wilderness Festival, this could be the year for your crew. The weather is set to be sweet, there are still a few tickets left, and you’ve a whole feast of family fun to look forward to throughout the weekend.
Happy campers with a dedicated family field
The Wilderness Family Camping area is exclusively for those with kids under 18. And it’s one of the closest campsites to the arena, so little legs can save themselves for boogying (and you may avoid a few piggyback requests). It’s also nice and close to the Family Field with its programme of awesome entertainment for little ones.
There are handy extras like kettles and baby changing mats available to borrow, as well as family-friendly food stalls nearby and, like all the Wilderness camping areas, you’ll find plenty of showers and toilets too. So don’t worry about queues, but also don’t hold your breath for shower-keen kids – they’ll be having way too much fun.
Unmissable headliners are just the beginning
Your teens may not remember just how huge Friday’s headliner act Faithless were back in the day, but their set showcases some of the most spine-tingling house tracks ever laid. They’ve lost none of their power, despite the passing of singer Maxi Jazz in 2022, but instead are keeping his memory very much alive with an act that’s part-tribute, part-CGI spectacle.
In a whole other British mood, there’s the peerlessly powerful vocals of mighty Michael Kiwanuka to look forward to on Saturday, and on Sunday Jessie Ware brings her ultimate cool girl summer feels to close out what promises to be an epic and eclectic lineup.

Get some wild family style at Wilderness Festival
But of course, it’s not just about the music at the UK’s best summer festivals, so Wilderness’ family activities range from sensory raves, games and dance sessions to family theatre, circus, clowning, performance and play.
In other words, your kids can go wild without limits, whilst being safe and looked after; you might even get to slope off to the Lakeside Spa. To that end, there’s also a nanny service on site, giving backup if you need it, which is the most useful festival extra we can imagine.
A whole lot of events are bookable from wellness to feasting, and some big draws in the family line up including the Flying Seagulls Project, Tootles+Nibs theatre tent, and Bedtime Tales with Rachel Rose Reid.
Feeding yourselves in the Wilderness never tasted so good
Wilderness Festival doesn’t take itself too seriously, unless we’re talking about food – feasting and dining being a big focus of the weekend’s proceedings.
So whether you’re after a quick bite to refuel or something more substantial to savour, you’re in for some seriously upmarket festival fare, there are even hosted long table banquets for a side of extra decadence.
The Wilderness Kitchen features a schedule of foodie events featuring top chefs and entertainment, whether you’re booking with friends or planning to make some new ones. And Carousel has workshops as well as amazing food, so if your littles want to learn about foraging or reducing food waste, you’ll be in the right place.
See you in a field in Oxfordshire very soon. We can’t wait!
