‘When will I return to my beach holiday’ is the phrase I have not stopped saying since we returned from our 7 night stay at the Holiday Village Menorca in May 2015. After a short 2 hour flight from Gatwick airport, London, during which I enjoyed pretending to be the pilot of the plane, we arrived at Mahon airport in Menorca. It was 28 degrees centigrade on the island, perfect ice cream weather!

Daddy loaded our suitcases onto a coach which took us along some windy roads to our hotel. On arrival, I was greeted by the porters at reception with a smile and promise of ice cream at dinner time! Our room was so nice and cool and I enjoyed being able to choose from a double bed, or sofa beds in the living area, pretending to make mum and dad a well-deserved cup of tea in the kitchen and playing hide and seek in the numerous spaces around our apartment. After my very relaxing bubble bath in the very stylish bathroom, I fell asleep soundly. We spent most of our days at the pool resort in the morning and headed down to the beautiful sandy beach in the afternoons, or somewhere else exciting.

The kids pool was just what I needed, it had a slide, tipping barrel, palm tree water fountain, and gave me enough shade if I became too hot under the sun. I met some amazing friends, and even tested my skills at archery and swimming lessons in the Kids Club. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was a feast for my senses, including foods from around the world such as oriental, Mediterranean, tex mex style and Indian cuisine! And if I got hungry during my playtime I could pick up a snack from the snack bar whenever I wanted. In the evening I enjoyed a stage performance including magic shows, comedy acts and musicals, before burning off the rest of my energy in the on-site kids park just around the corner from my room!

Mum and dad took me shopping for toys in the local Market town which was a 20 minute bus ride away from the resort. It was a mini adventure! The following day we took a walk down to the harbour to see the yachts and play in the amusement arcades, and on the way we stopped off at the local shop Bettabuy to pick up a fishing net and some supplies, very useful. I’d rate this holiday 10/10! I didn’t want to leave! All the staff were very friendly and we had fresh towels and bed clothes every day. All my needs were met, and that’s a big ask for a 3 year old! And for only just under £2000 (all inclusive) for all three of us and my baby sibling in mummy’s tummy, mum and dad say we could be returning again!
