Can you have a good eco-conscience and an amazing family holiday in Croatia at the same time? Rochelle Streater asked the question at Valamar Amicor Green Resort on Hvar Island, and the answer was a loud, ‘yes’.
- Rochelle and family, Valamar Amicor Green Resort
- Time for tea, Maro Club, holiday in Croatia
Valamar Amicor Green Resort is known for being a beacon of eco-friendly luxury, offering families a unique and sustainable holiday in Croatia. So when we had the opportunity to visit, we grabbed it with both hands.
This family-focused resort seamlessly combines comfort, adventure, and environmental awareness, while still offering some of the best kids’ entertainment I have ever seen (only beaten by its Dubrovnik sister resort: Valamar Tirena Dubrovnik).

The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient solutions not only enhances the overall aesthetic appeal but also aligns with the resort’s commitment to being Net Zero.
Our suite was overlooking the river and surrounded with newly planted trees and plants. It also featured a solar panel on the roof which impressively ran all the electricity for our room, which also came stocked with fresh fruit and games for kids to play in the rare moments they weren’t playing outdoors.
