Quirky camping – pig ark in Wales

Last updated 9th June 2017

Forget converted horseboxes and shepherds’ huts, Cwmcrwth Farm Cottages is taking glamping to a new level, with the launch of their new Pig Ark breaks. Scrubbed up and tastefully decorated, Cwmcrwth’s converted pig ark provides cosy accommodation in an orchard overlooking the farm, with sleeping bags and blankets for a comfy night (almost) under the stars.

Perfect for families after something a little different, guests stay in the pig ark as part of a multi-night break in one of the farm’s stylish converted barns. Kids can meet the resident horses, and help Farmer Rob collect the eggs and feed the pigs. Adults can even take part in a pork curing course run by the farm – although maybe best not to tell the kids!

To keep your little ones occupied, whether young or old, there is a newly built play area. Whether they want to imagine themselves as royalty within the wooden play castle, jump around on trampolines, or play a bit of swingball – there is everything here to allow their imaginations to run wild.

Price: A three-night stay, based on a family of four, sharing the Hayloft cottage on a self-catering basis is £189. The ark sleeps a maximum of four people and comes at a cost of £25 per night. For the hiring of sleeping bags, mattresses and pillows as well as a breakfast picnic, comes at an additional cost of £25 per night.
