You’ll be happy to hear that Abercrombie & Kent understands exactly how you feel. The company has been tailor-making luxury family holidays for over 55 years, and is an expert in taking the stress out of travel.

To make holiday planning for those fleeting half-terms easier, A&K has come up with some practical – and fabulous – suggestions for breaks of all sizes between now and Easter 2019. And, as if that isn’t helpful enough, it’s also offering up to 45% off selected family holidays, from sunny Saint Lucia in December to marvellous Mauritius in February.

Take a closer look at the hand-picked top six…

Christmas in sunny Saint Lucia or snowy Portes du Soleil

Christmas in the Caribbean is a classic in its own way, though you might prefer a more traditional option: snowy mountains, sleigh rides and enchanting forests. Never ones to limit your dreams, A&K has hand-picked the perfect destinations for both types of festive family holiday.

6. Sugar Beach Resort, Saint Lucia

Pretty Saint Lucia is the instantly recognisable Windward Island with the twin pitons. Kids will also be impressed by the drive-through volcano, treetop adventure parks and whale watching cruises in winter. There are pirate legends aplenty for them round lively Rodney Bay, and they can even learn the art of chocolate making, from scratch, at historic Rabot Estate. Plus, beach weather is guaranteed in December, with temperatures upwards of 25˚C and lots of sun.

Sugar Beach Resort has one of the island’s loveliest locations, surrounded by over 40 hectares of tropical rainforest in the Valley of the Pitons. More than that, it sits on the only white-sand beach on the island’s southwest coast, and every guest villa has either a view of the Caribbean or the legendary mountains.

Why A&K loves Sugar Beach for family Christmas holidays

  • Beautifully designed and spacious family villas with up to three bedrooms
  • Activity packed, creative and outdoorsy Sugar Club for four- to 12-year olds

5. Chalet Twenty 26, Morzine

Chalet Twenty 26 sits on the edge of Morzine close to the Vallée de la Manche, so it’s ideal for dipping into local festivities, access to slopes and perfect peace (if that’s what you want). With six bedrooms and room for up to 12 guests, this is a wonderfully chic and luxurious mountain retreat for a big family Christmas.

4. Chalet du Vallon, Meribel

Dipped into a valley and surrounded by snowy forests, captivating Meribel is every inch the cute Alpine village. So it’s all the more surprising to discover it’s also at the heart of the high-speed lift network which accesses over 600 kilometres of slopes across Trois Vallées: the world’s biggest single ski area.

Set in Meribel, recently refurbished Chalet du Vallon is delightfully authentic right down to its beamed ceilings and open log fires. Just don’t expect rustic in the details. 3. Constance Prince Maurice, Mauritius

The northeast coast of Mauritius is known for fabulous beaches and great water sports. It’s the preferred coast for sailors, and one of the most peaceful if sheer escapism is what you’re after. Though lively Grand Baie is an easy drive away for fun family activities, and the historic capital of Port Louis lies under an hour to the west.

Constance Prince Maurice sits on a private, 60-hectare peninsula on the north east coast. It’s one of The Leading Hotels of the World, has the largest wine cellar in the Indian Ocean and no less than two 18-hole golf courses. That probably won’t impress younger guests as much as the kids’ club, water sports on the beach, free kitesurfing lessons and family suites with their own room featuring bunk beds and specially designed en-suite bathrooms.

Spain or Portugal for extraordinary Easter holidays

The weather is warming up nicely across Europe in April. But if you’re looking for guaranteed beach-perfect sunshine, Abercrombie & Kent highly recommend the Algarve or Tenerife for Easter 2019.

2. The Ritz Carlton Abama, Tenerife

Tenerife’s west coast is more peaceful than most, which makes it prime territory for whale and dolphin spotting, and surprisingly uncrowded beaches. Don’t mistake tranquil for isolated, however; just a short drive south brings you to several of the island’s liveliest resorts, water parks and adventure parks. Plus the wild outdoor fun of Mount Teide National Park is less than an hour inland.

The Ritz Carlton Abama lords it over Tenerife’s west coast. It looks more like a historic Moorish citadel than a resort, but closer inspection reveals everything in place for a fantastic family holiday, from one of the largest kids’ clubs in Europe to seven tennis courts, an 18-hole championship golf course, 10 restaurants, not to mention a lovely private beach accessible only by funicular – which is as much fun as it sounds.

Why A&K loves The Ritz Carlton Abama for Easter

  • Two-bedroom family suites with space for up to nine guests
  • Ritz Kids Club for four- to 12-year-olds has eight different creative play zones
  • 18-hole championship golf course, Annabel Croft Tennis Academy
