Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives

Last updated 9th June 2017

A new five star resort, Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives in the Lhaviyani Atoll, is opening on 15 Decemberand it’s focusing its attention on all-inclusive family holidays. With turquoise lagoons, spacious accommodation and a host of activities for parents with children of all ages, this is a mecca for families.

The resort

There is a 90m wide stretch of sandy white beach, which goes on and on for 2km, and an expansive lagoon: the perfect place for small children to safely splash and play, or take their first steps on the sand and swim in the beautiful waters.

The new Maldivian resort has launched with a Platinum Plus plan too, which means that all food, drinks, excursions and activities are included in the cost of your holiday and paid for before arrival, so you can enjoy your long-haul holiday without having to worry about extra costs on big food bills, or activities for the kids.

Activities

Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives has a daily programme including guided nature trails for children that love wildlife, and local arts and crafts making, as well as educational lessons about the history and culture of the Maldives, and lessons to learn the local Dhivehi language.

There’s also live musical performances, off-island excursions and sunset fishing. And for mum and dad, or teenage daughters, there are fitness and dance classes.

Plus, there’s a 50m swimming pool (the first in the Maldives), a sports complex and lots of non-motorised water sports.

Kids’ club: Parents sometimes need a break, and so do the children, so Atmosphere has a kids’ club running from 9am-9pm (it’s also the perfect place for the troops to make new friends.)

Kids aged 4-11 can take part in making masks, feeding fish, learning to juggle, face painting and quizzes.

For 12-16 year olds there’s pool tournaments, beach football, island excursions, sushi making classes, fitness classes, DJ lessons and disco nights.

Accommodation

There are 150 detached sunset villas. Smaller families should book a Sunset Beach Villa, which sleeps two adults and one child; while the Sunset Family Villas are double the size and have enough space for six people.

The villas are stocked up with sun cream and insect repellent – one less thing to pack and carry – and the minibar is replenished twice daily (the perfect excuse to relax on your private terrace with a drink). And if the kids need a break from the sunshine, there’s WiFi, a DVD player and iPod docks.
