Ambassador Cruise Line typically targets the 50-plus audience (although adults of any age are welcome to sail with the brand) however, the line also offers a number of designated multigenerational cruises during school holidays so families can sail altogether and enjoy everything Ambassador has to offer.

All infants over six months, as well as older children are welcome onboard Ambassador multigenerational cruises (although it’s worth highlighting there are no specific children’s facilities on board).

In 2022, Ambassador’s Hidden Nordics Treasures itinerary visited Sweden, Denmark and Finland and was open to children and families, while in 2023, the Ambassador multigenerational cruise will head to the Mediterranean and Balearic Islands for 14 nights.

The upcoming Multigenerational Summer Balearics Getaway sails to Spain, Portugal and the Balearic Islands.

The family cruise leaves from London Tilbury and first calls at Leixoes for Oporto – also known as Porto – in Portugal. The beautiful city is home to a wealth of gems such as the Ribeira district (a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its colourful buildings and narrow, cobbled streets), as well as the Clerigos Tower, Palacio da Bolsa and stunning Sao Bento train station.

As for Spanish ports of call, there’s Palma de Majorca, then Ibiza, where family-friendly activities range from waterslide heaven at the Aguamar water park and idyllic boat tours to hiking one of the island’s nature reserves or exploring Dalt Vila: Ibiza’ historic walled city.
