Florida family vacation

Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort is located in Marathon in the Florida Keys and we just got back from spending a week in that area and loving every minute of it!  The weather was in the mid-80s all week and we enjoyed spending time in the sun with the kids for a change.  Perfect for a Florida family vacation, the resort has family-friendly beachfront beach houses with fully-equipped kitchens, spacious living/dining rooms, and private porches and balconies.

What we loved about Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort

My husband is an avid golfer, so having three different putting greens outside our beach house by Nicklaus Design was amazing.  The kids putted outside for hours most days.  There are also three swimming pools, including a child-friendly lagoon style pool with zero-entry and one for adults only. Great pools are an essential for us on a Florida family vacation but the fact that the lagoon styled pool here actually wrap around the beach houses definitely gives Tranquility Bay an edge.  The kids loved building sand castles or playing beach volleyball on the beautiful white-sand private beach.  There was also an onsite Tiki bar to grab lunch and drinks easily.  They have an award winning restaurant on site as well, Butterfly Café, with fresh seafood dishes.  The resort has onsite watersports, including jet skis at your convenience to just hop on and take into the ocean right from the resort!  We will definitely be back to Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort!

How to get there

There’s a range of travel options for a Florida family vacation at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort. We rented a car and drove from FLL (Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International) Airport as flights were cheaper – FLL to Marathon is under two hours, 30 minutes.  But you can fly into Marathon International Airport and the resort is just a mile away, and it’s also just over 90 miles south of Miami and only 45 miles if you drive from Key West airport.
