Families describe Hillside Beach Club as, ‘Heaven on earth’ and almost 70% of them return for a second holiday here, so their judgement can clearly be trusted. But if you want to make up your own mind about this divine resort, it re-opens for summer on 15 April. Until then here’s a preview of why guests can’t get enough of Hillside Beach Club, and what the resort has planned to make your family holiday in paradise even more perfect this year.
1/7 A heavenly five-star resort in an idyllic setting
Locations don’t come much more privileged than the one Hillside Beach Club enjoys on Turkey’s historic Lycian Coast. Not only does the resort sit on private Kalemya Bay, gazing out over the Aegean, it’s sheltered by gentle hills covered in fragrant Mediterranean pine and has no less than three private beaches.
All guest accommodation is designed around the forested slopes, so every room and suite features breathtaking views along with a wonderful sense of tranquil, personal space. And the lush tree canopy is also the enchanting setting for SANDA Nature Spa and the traditional SANDA Spa: two very different experiences, both equally lux and utterly soothing.
2/7 Fresh, family-friendly ideas for summer 2019
Service has always been impeccable at Hillside, in that subtle effortless style which really defines great resorts. But this year its seems the impossible has been achieved and they’ve actually managed to improve on perfection.
A clever new Beach Order app, now allows guests to order drinks on a smartphone and have them delivered direct to their cloud-soft sun loungers at the tap of a finger.
Healthy and delicious food created especially for toddlers and younger kids by the resort’s dedicated ‘Baby Chef’ is another of this summer’s fresh ideas for families.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner served buffet style in the Main Restaurant easily tempt older children to try new flavors – a big part of the fun on holiday. And while elegant Pasha on the Bay is adult-only and â la carte, Hillside are now delighted to welcome kids over the age of 12 for a taste of grown-up fine dining at lunchtime or in the evening.
One aspect of Hillside Beach Club that’s entirely unchanged this summer is the resort’s commitment to all guests ‘feeling good’. And their latest interactive website makes sure that sense of absolute wellbeing starts long before your holiday, by allowing you to customize your choice of room, pre-order baby and toddler equipment, book watersport instruction or even set diet preferences online, so everything is just as you like it the moment you arrive.
3/7 Paradise is now packed with fun kids clubs
Hillside’s kids clubs are all about cossetting and caring for kids, filling every single day of their holiday with happy memories and adventures, teaching them new skills and building their confidence.
Baby Park gives younger kids and parents their own space to play. The colorful playground, mini-waterpark and big, exciting sandpit are all designed for maximum appeal to under threes. And there’s even a quiet nursing room where moms can catch a breath and breastfeed in peace – bliss.
Kidside is the high-energy, club where kids aged between four and 10 can try anything from sailing and basketball to playing DJ for the day.
A dynamic daily program of sports and games, keeps young guests busy at Activity Centre, the sociable kids club created especially for 10 to 15 year-olds.
And Young Club is just for teens, whether they want to play beach volleyball with friends, break out new dance moves, take up a watersport or simply chill in the jacuzzi.
With the exception of Baby Park, all Hillside kids clubs are supervised by qualified childcare professionals and sports’ instructors, so you can relax knowing your kids are having a fantastic time in very safe hands.
For summer 2019, families can also look forward to Mother & Daughter Yoga; Father & Son Kayaking lessons and Kids Movie Nights. Plus there’s an exciting new range of tailormade experiences such as island-hopping cruises, gorge walking, mountain biking and jeep safaris – all very family-friendly and easy to arrange.
4/7 Sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches and world-class watersports
Hillside Beach Club lives up to its name with a choice three beautiful Mediterranean beaches. Serenity and Silent beaches are adult-only havens of peace and quiet, while family-friendly Main Beach is the resort’s watersport hub where kids can try windsurfing and SUP with qualified instructors, take sailing lessons or spend hours paddling around in canoes.
Hillside is also home to Turkey’s first official water-skiing and wakeboarding school, and its PADI Dive Centre offers instruction from entry-level scuba for parents and kids to advanced open-water and night diving courses for more seasoned underwater enthusiasts.
5/7 Sensational events for summer 2019
In addition to their diverse, summer-long family activity program, Hillside are also filling the 2019 season with spectacular events and experiences to interest everyone from classical music connoisseurs and movie buffs to devotees of extreme watersports.
- Feel-Good Week in May is the perfect early summer rewind, quickly followed by an energizing Watersports Week featuring technical displays by Wakeboard World Champions.
- Visit during the last week of May to enjoy a unique series of British Film Institute (BFI) events, ranging from Movie Making for Kids to film talks and practical workshops.

6/7 Even more fun round the legendary Lycian Coast
Hillside Beach Club is surrounded by remarkable natural beauty and fascinating history. The Amyntas Rock Tombs are some of the most photographed monuments in Europe, and only four miles east of the resort. Even closer, the town of Fethiye is one of the oldest on the coast and no kid can resist its colorful bazaars, Ancient Roman amphitheater and a charming marina packed with quaint sailboats.
An afternoon exploring the nearby ghost-village of Kayaköy is an eerie experience which almost seems designed to thrill teens. Or, if they prefer something more active, tandem-paragliding over Ölüdeniz Lagoon is the perfect excuse to see Turkey’s most famous beach – less than 40 minutes drive south of Hillside.
Kids might be contented to stay at the resort all holiday, but if they feel like adventuring further afield, the Hillside team can easily arrange anything from visits to historic sites like UNESCO World Heritage Xanthos or a day out gorge walking in the spectacular Akdağlar hills.
