You don’t have to think about small print at Club La Santa, because when they say all sports and activities are included in your stay, that’s what they mean.
In real terms that gives you and your kids the choice of 80 different sports and 500 activities every week. Admittedly, doing the lot might be a bit of a challenge in one holiday, but the Club La Santa concept is very appealing so there’s a good chance you’ll be back, especially if your kids have any say in the matter.

Your kids can try something new every day at Club La Santa
Club La Santa is all about everyone joining in, discovering new things, building confidence and, yes, learning. We know adding education to family holidays can be tricky; it’s always a balancing act and puts pressure on parents to find activities that mix learning with fun, and then there’s the trick of finding the right activities to suit every one of your kids.
If you think that sounds exhausting, you’re not alone. We’ve all been there and it’s one of the reasons we like Club La Santa so much: you can do what you like, each of your kids can do what they like and there’s plenty to do together as a family.

They say ‘no experience necessary’ and mean just that
When you hear the words ‘no previous experience necessary’, they usually indicate you’re going to have to pay for at least a few one-on-one lessons to introduce your kids to new sports. But this is something else Club La Santa says, and means.
You and your kids can try something for the first time and see if it’s your thing, at no extra cost. All instructors are fully qualified and highly trained, at every level, from beginners to expert, so kids are always working to their own ability, beginners are never out of their depth and nobody gets put off a sport for life because of a bad first experience. That is definitely not the way Club La Santa plays.
It’s quite the opposite, in fact, as the entire environment and atmosphere is geared towards encouraging and supporting guests, of all ages, and giving them the confidence to stretch themselves, in their own time, at their own pace, and with no pressure; another reason why these are some of the best family activity holidays Europe offers.
On that note, you also don’t have to do anything at all. The weather in Lanzarote is gorgeous all year round – more on that in a minute – so nobody is going to think twice when you decide you just want to laze by the pool, relax in the spa or go exploring round the island.

Play Time Kids Club, Lanzarote family holidays at Club La Santa
Wake up to the sun and Club La Santa kids clubs
Good weather wakes you up every morning in Lanzarote, summer and winter, which makes it a very motivating place for a family activity holiday. But if you need more of kickstart, join The Green Team at the leisure pool from 8am for a stretch and warm-up to get you ready for the rest of the day.
Children from ages three to 10 might want to join in the fun at the morning Play Time kids club. It’s fully supervised, so parents are welcome to take some time to themselves, join a class, try a new activity or just chill by the enormous leisure pool.
In the afternoon, Fun Time is the activity programme where kids aged between three and 10 can get up to everything from beach treasure hunts and pirate dress up games to first time windsurfing lessons. Good to note, Fun Time is supervised by The Green Team instructors, but under fives need to be accompanied by a parent.
Then, for your bolder and older 10 to 15 year olds, there’s Young Time which introduces kids to new sports, encourages team building, as well as a little independence, and is the perfect place to make those all-important holiday friends.

Spectacular views from Club La Santa, Lanzarote
Club La Santa accommodation really is family-sized
Gently promoting a healthy lifestyle plays a big part in the thinking behind Club La Santa, and sleeping and eating well are just as important here as being active.
Unlike a lot of ‘family’ resorts, this one recognises we’re not all a cookie-cutter size, so you’ll be pleased to know that you aren’t expected to be ‘average’, because the accommodation certainly isn’t.
For a start, you can choose between apartments or suites, sleeping from four to 10, all with their own private terraces, kitchens and living rooms.
Several two-bedroom Comfort Apartments feature two bathrooms – a bonus for teenage guests – and a range of three bedroom Luxury Suites come with four bathrooms, as well as sea views.
Or, if you really want to spread out, or you’re planning a multi-gen family activity holiday, four-bedroom Penthouse apartments, offer two living areas and three terraces, as well as two bathrooms, and sleep up to 10 guests.
Plus, not only is Club La Santa’s architecture designed to fit naturally with Lanzarote’s stunning northwest coast, the resort layout means family accommodation sits conveniently close to sports, activities, pools, kids clubs and restaurants.

The Green Team, La Plaza Restaurant, Club La Santa
Healthy eating is all part of the fun here too
Speaking of restaurants, although all suites and apartments include their own kitchens and an on-site supermarket makes it easy to cook for yourself, Club La Santa also has three restaurants, as well as a pool bar.
With that in mind you can choose to self-cater or opt for B&B, half-board or full-board, it’s up to you and what appeals most to your family.
The Restaurant Atlántico buffet opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and features a wonderful outdoor terrace. Or try more al-fresco dining at El Lago which overlooks the lagoon, opens all day, and offers a take-out service if you want to eat at home, but you don’t want to cook. And finally, La Plaza serves dinner in the evening, and is also where The Green Team perform their Monday night shows as part of Club La Santa’s entertainment programme.

Timanfaya National Park, Lanzarote family holidays
Just add Lanzarote for your perfect family holiday
Now let’s talk about Lanzarote, one of our favourite Canary Islands and one of the best for family activity holidays Europe-wide, not least because it’s warm and sunny year round, with average temperatures of 25° in summer, only dropping to round about 18° in winter.
Club La Santa sits on the northwest coast, which is always just a little cooler than the south, and ideal for activity breaks.
That said, this is an easy island to explore and the resort is less than 20 minutes from legendary Timanfaya National Park, a short drive from historic Teguise, and only half-an-hour away from the spectacular César Manrique Foundation.
If you want to stretch your horizons just a little bit, you can hit the south coast in no time at all and explore pretty beach towns, and even prettier beaches, like iconic Playa de Papagayo on the far southwest tip of the island.
Of course, going it alone is great fun, but if you want a little insider knowledge in your trip, Club La Santa offers a choice of excursions ranging from visits to the Teguise Sunday Market and La Graciosa island hops to discovering Lanzarote’s dramatic volcanic wine region or catamaran cruises along the Atlantic coast. Again, you can book any of these on the Club La Santa app.
