Rocky Mountain Coaster Opens Year-Round at Copper Mountain

Last updated 11th December 2017

Copper Mountain Colorado, a ski destination in its own right, has opened its new alpine coaster, The Rocky Mountain Coaster. The year-round attraction boasts two 360-degree turns and a 430-vertical drop, perfect for adrenaline junkies who want excitement beyond the slopes.

With an overall length of 5,800 feet, the raised alpine coaster track runs along the natural curvature of the mountain with zigs, zags, dips and 360 degree turns for guaranteed thrills all the way down to Copper’s high alpine Center Village. Carts reach a max speed of 25 mph, and feature manual hand brakes give riders the freedom to go at their own pace.

The Rocky Mountain Coaster is open daily, weather-permitting, with solo rides priced at $25 and two-passenger rides priced at $35. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 who are at least 36” tall may ride as a passenger with someone 16 or older.

Catch the ride on Copper’s YouTube video.
