Eclipse chasers, mark your calendars. Another solar eclipse is set to cross over South America on December 14, 2020. The Chilean Lake District not only makes for spectacular viewing—Lake Villarrica is set to be in the path of totality for two minutes and seven seconds—but it’s also ideal for stargazing, hiking, swimming and skiing (depending on when you go).
Pro tip: Lake Villarrica is also home to several volcanoes. Set up a tour before the main event and take in stunning views of the lake.
