Nick Dalton

Nick, a U.K.-based travel writer for newspapers, such as The Times, has visited nearly 90 U.S. ski resorts (and another 20 or so in Canada). When not skiing he’s also an expert on cruises, and his children, Georgia and Henry.

What’s your favorite vacation destination as a family? We love the Alps in winter, cruising the Med and walking in the Welsh mountains – but really we adore exploring somewhere new.

What’s your favorite vacation destination as a couple? The English seaside with its picturesque towns, ice-cream and walks on the beach.

Your first family vacation memory with your kids? Splashing in the sea in Barbados with a school of flying fish soaring by.

What’s your kids favorite vacation? It was probably our road trip from San Francisco to LA last year, although they really want to go back to Silver Star ski resort in BC. Oh, they loved our Greek island-hopping cruise.

What would you take on a desert island? Lots of photos and a big stick to get the coconuts down.

What’s on your family vacation wish list? Florida, an Alaskan cruise and skiing in Colorado.
