MSC officially welcomed a brand new ship into the family with a naming ceremony and inaugural sail on December 22, 2017. The new ship, the MSC Seaside boasts an impressive array of family fun, both on board and with exclusive shore excursions. The fondly dubbed “ship that follows the sun” will begin at port in Miami and take cruisers around the Caribbean to getaway destinations including the Bahamas, Mexico, the US Virgin Islands and more.
Designed with the idea to bring vacationers closer to the sea, the MSC Seaside, includes several unique design elements. Glass-floor catwalks give the illusion of walking on water, while panoramic elevators and al fresco dining venues offer beautiful ocean views. Not to mention the Bridge of Sighs where brave guests can venture out on a glass-bottomed path 130-foot above the ocean for a truly inspiring look at their surroundings.
Comfortable cabins offer guests a wide range of options. Particularly of note are the well-designed flexible modular cabins, which can accommodate groups of guests of up to 10, making them perfect for bigger families. With 73% of rooms offering balcony cabins, corner suites give guests even larger balconies and panoramic scenes so you never feel cooped up, even just hanging out in your cabin.
For those looking for a more luxurious and personalized stay, the MSC Seaside also has a “ship within a ship” concept with its elite yacht club. Members have access to exclusive facilities and rooms come with 24-hour butler service.
There’s no shortage of entertainment to keep the kids busy and this ship is bursting with activities. Six different kids’ areas allow little cruisers of all ages to experience the fun from the Baby Club all the way up to the Teens Club. Each kids’ club is also equipped with cutting edge technology like 3D printing, VR Gaming and 3D product scanning.
A top highlight for kids will surely be the two zip lines. The longest of any zip line at sea, kids (and parents!) can soar from the very top of the ship across 345 feet to the opposite end. And with a family cinema, a bowling alley, an interactive aqua park with multiple water slides, Broadway-style shows and more, kids will end every day tired and happy from play.
There’s plenty on board the MSC Seaside for parents to get excited about too. The ship features the largest spa and gym of any MSC ship. Pamper yourself at the high-end styling salon, relax in saunas and whirlpool baths, or sweat it out in the yoga area or spinning room.
With over 20 bars and lounges spread around the ship, the MSC Seaside offers a wide range of unique places to enjoy a drink. Plus, the dining options aren’t your typical cruise food. Specialty restaurants include a steakhouse, seafood restaurant and an Asian Market Kitchen by celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi. Bring the kids or use the baby sitting service for a night out on your own.
With so many options, everyone in the family is sure to have a memorable (and relaxing) vacation sailing the seas.
