Treasure Island Beach & Madeira Beach

Warm sunshine for 361 days a year on average, makes St. Pete / Clearwater a natural for laid back family holidays

When you’ve got a hankering for authentic local communities and life lived at an easy-going pace, point yourself in the direction of Treasure Island Beach and nearby Madeira Beach.

Madeira Beach is what happens when you mix a traditional fishing village with a lively beach town, plus a barrier island. And it’s all wonderful. Stroll around John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk. Drop into a few of over 100 shops. Cruise to see dolphins. Or just hang out and soak up the vibe. Should you feel a little energetic, there are also 2.5 miles of beach to play on, and several safe and sunny spots for a swim.

If that doesn’t sound laid-back enough for you, stretch your horizons a little and hit Treasure Island Beach too. Precious by name, precious by nature, T.I. – as the locals call it – Beach is unusually wide, and beloved of young, old and anyone in-between. It even has a quaint neighbourhood to the south, name of Sunset Beach. Is there anything sweeter than watching the sun go down at the end of a lazy-by-design-day? We don’t think so.
