Choose Fun: 5 Reasons to Cruise on the New Carnival Horizon

Last updated 4th June 2018

Carnival recently debuted its 26th ship, Carnival Horizon, to much fanfare. Queen Latifah served as the ship’s godmother and was onboard to christen the 3,960-passenger ship in the New York harbor.

Here are the top five reasons to love this new, family-friendly ship, which will sail to destinations throughout the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.

1. The SkyDeck, Where the Sky’s the Limit

There’s no excuse not to stay active with the Sports Skydeck, which has everything you can imagine, inclding a two-level, 9-hole mini golf course, a rope walking and jogging course, billiards, an outdoor fitness area, ping pong, mini bowling and an outdoor basketball court. The best way to see the ship? By pedaling through the air on the SkyRide, which is like a bicycle course suspended in the air.

2. The Wonderful Waterpark

Splash along with your favorite Dr. Seuss characters at Carnival’s first-ever Dr. Seuss-themed waterpark. The park has two colorful racing slides, a 300-gallon tipping bucket and water spray toys in the kiddie splash zone.

3. Guy Fieri!

Celebrity chef and best-selling author Guy Fieri debuted his latest BBQ venue, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, on the Horizon. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with live music, tasty down-home BBQ and four different craft beers brewed right onboard the ship.

4. Over-the-Top Entertainment

You can easily stay entertained for days on end — whether it’s rain or shine. Check out the three onboard theaters, including an iMax, a 3-D and a seaside theater with a 270 square-foot LED screen. There is also Punchliner’s Comedy Club, the Hasbro the Game Show and Playlist Productions, which hosts three different live performances.

 5. Havana Days — and Nights

The Cuban-themed pool and bar offers delicious Cuban coffee and desserts by day and then cocktails, live music and dancing by night. Havana suites are also available, which offer access to a private swim area during the day. Carnival’s new hashtag is #ChooseFun, and the Horizon definitely delivers.
