New Direct Flights Make These Caribbean Islands the Perfect Getaway

Taking the whole crew to the Caribbean for a fun-filled family getaway just got way easier.

Delta announced it’s adding a new weekly flight on Saturdays from New York’s JFK airport to Antigua and Barbuda. The new service will launch December 22. American also recently announced that it would be adding a second daily flight to Antigua from Miami, making this underrated Caribbean destination the perfect getaway for your next family vacation.

Plus, JetBlue is expanding to Cuba, making the hot destination even easier for families to get to. Beginning this November, the airlines will be launching nonstop flights from Boston to Havana, with weekly flights on Saturdays.

JetBlue also plans to add up to three daily flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Havana starting on November 11. JetBlue also already offers direct flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, giving East Coast travelers even more flight options for getting to the trendy vacation spot.

This news comes just after United also announced they will be expanding their current flight offerings to Cuba. United will be adding daily nonstop flights between Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport. The flights will add to what had previously been Saturday-only service.

These easy and short flights mean families can ditch the long and tiring layovers and skip straight to exploring the colorful streets of Havana.

Adding to the island fun, Caribbean Airlines announced in mid-March that its first-ever nonstop service from New York City to Argyle International Airport in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Operating weekly every Wednesday, mean that getting to this secluded and stunning destination is now just a quick 4 hours and 45 minute direct flight as opposed to the previous 7+ hour epic it used to be.

The destination itself is a collection of 32 islands with stunning emerald waters and luxurious white sand beaches and peppered with family-friendly accommodations from villas and resorts to beachfront house rentals. Round trip tickets in May start at $600 per person.

Start packing up the beach bags now because island time is calling.
