What’s your favorite vacation destination as a family?

So far I think Japan is our favorite. We were amazed by the culture and hospitality, and we all discovered a passion for gyozas and dumplings! Skiing in the Japanese Alps was not unlike any other ski town really, and the juxtaposition between skiing in Hakuba in the west and the urban sprawl of Tokyo in the east was incredible. Bullet trains, owl cafes, and snow monkeys sealed the deal. We can’t wait to go back!

What’s your favorite vacation destination as a couple?

Paris. It’s totally cliché, but we celebrated our 10th anniversary there, and Paris was also our first international trip together as a couple. We loved it so much that we took the kids back the following year. Now we all love Paris!

You first family vacation memory?

My family liked to camp when I was younger, so my first memories are of running around in the outdoors. We also skied each winter, so trips to Colorado were some of my fondest memories. It developed a lifelong passion for skiing that I’m trying to pass on to my own kids.

What’s your kids favorite vacation?

Andrew – London

Cadence – Paris

Japan is always in the mix depending on what day you ask though.

What would you take on a desert island?

A tablet full of books and music and a solar charger. And some sunglasses.

What’s on your family vacation wishlist?

Our wanderlust is severe here at AftT, so to keep things concise, I’ll limit myself to three. We really want to visit the Austrian Alps to do some skiing and also visit some Christmas markets sometime soon. Southeast Asia is also on our list, and more US National Parks.
