Learn to Ski Month Across the Country

January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, which is ideal for families looking to get their kids on the slopes. From great offers to lessons, you’ll find an array of newcomer programs across the country, many of which are free or highly discounted!

A sampling of the programs, being added daily to Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month’s website, include:

  • Snow Valley, California. The resort is offering Buy One (for $74) Get One Free Beginner Lesson offer for skiers and snowboarders. The offer includes beginner area lift ticket, 2-hour group lesson, and complete ski or snowboard rental package valid Monday through Friday, non-holiday, January 5-31, 2018. (Holiday rate for lesson is $109 on January 15.)
  • Crested Butte, Colorado. The resort is offering adults 50% ski and snowboard rental equipment through the Rental & Demo Shop in conjunction with the guest’s reservation of an Adult Beginner Ski Adventure Lesson. The 50% discount reduces the price of Adult Sport Skis and Snowboards to $17 per person (prior to taxes). First time skiers and riders ages 15 and older can sign up for a First Time Beginner Adventure lesson with the Crested Butte Ski and Ride School.
  • Wild Mountain, Minnesota. The resort is offering a complimentary lesson for those who purchase a lift ticket and rentals. (Adult, $39; Child (6-12), $27; Rental, $17; Never Ending Lesson free for ages 8+ and Snowboarding lesson is free for ages 12+.) Join the lesson anytime between 11 am – 3 pm.
  • Mt. Peter, New York. The resort is offering free Beginner Lessons every weekend and holiday, with the purchase of a lift ticket for ages 5 and up. (Lift ticket and rentals need to be purchased separately.)
  • Ragged Mountain, New Hampshire. The Bebe Wood Program includes three 2-hour lessons with lower mountain lift ticket, and Rossignol Rental Product – all for free! After the lesson, newcomers can keep practicing for the rest of the day for only $20! Additional lessons for the current and following season only $29 for Bebe Wood Program graduates!
  • Cataloochee, North Carolina. The resort is offering a newcomer program beginning January 8, 2018 and it is only available online. Cataloochee’s program includes a special $59 beginning lesson, lift and rental package for persons age 8 and above. This offer is valid any non-holiday Monday through Friday during the month of January.
  • Shawnee, Pennsylvania. The resort kicks off a month-long promotion on Friday, January 5th with 100 introductory Learn to Ski or Snowboard Packages for the value price of $29 each. For the remainder of January, excluding January 13 & 14, Shawnee Mountain will be offering a discount Learn to Ski or Snowboard Package online for just $79 (rental price is $105). The package includes an all-area lift ticket, rental equipment and a first-time group lesson.
  • Mt. Snow, Vermont. Offering a new step-by-step lesson product from Peak Resorts gives newcomers the opportunity to “Learn, Practice, & Explore” at any Peak Resort in the Northeast. Guests may choose which resort(s) they complete their program at, opting to complete the program at the same property or mixing up resort locations. The program is $139 after December 15.
