Citing a Wyndham hotels’ survey where more than half of kids interviewed felt their parents were on their phones too much, Wyndham hotels has decided to give parents a discount for hanging up.
The new Reconnected packages at select Wyndham Grand properties will give families 5% off rates to families who elect to put their smartphones into a lock box. Each lock box offers a timer and will not open until the time ends.
Wyndham noted parents spend too much time on their phones when vacationing with their kids, finding 32% of children feel “unimportant” in the hotel’s survey. The new program means to make vacations a true family affair, with no distractions but each other. The package includes a blanket fort to build within your room for the kids, an Instax camera to keep the memories, and a late-night “Bedtime Brigade” room service menu.
Reconnected programs are available through Sept. 3, 2018, at Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach; Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront; Hotel Galvez in Galveston, Texas; the Mills House in Charleston, S.C.; and Orlando Bonnet Creek.
