One World Trade Lands TWA Lounge

Last updated 16th October 2017

New York’s One World Trade unveiled its new TWA lounge on its 86th floor. Modeled after the former Trans World Airlines’ (TWA) once-hip and world-renowned lounge, the new lounge features views stretching 12 miles as well as a retro style where visitors can step back into the ’60s. Besides offering fantastic views of Manhattan, the cool lounge and bar harkens back to its heyday with custom-made Solari board, chili pepper red sunken lounge and TWA memorabilia.

The launch coincides with the announcement of TWA’s first hotel, landing soon at New York’s JFK Airport. The new hotel will preserve the iconic TWA Flight Center terminal, restoring it to its 1962 Jet Age splendor for travelers staying at JFK. The original flight center’s design by Eero Saarinen inspired the designs by Lubrano Ciavarra Architects in the hotel and the new lounge.
