Mr. and Mrs. Smith Announce Their 2018 Winners for Best Family Hotel

Last updated 21st May 2018

Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a site focused on highlighting and booking boutique and luxury hotels, has announced the winners for their 2018 Hotel Awards. Among the categories is Best Family Hotel and the winners list highlights a wide range of spectacular hotels perfect for families around the globe from the US all the way to Mauritius. Among the judging criteria was how welcoming the hotels were, the offerings for both kids and parents, as well as childcare services and meal options suitable for the whole family.

Claiming the top spot was the stunning Taylor River Lodge. Set in beautiful Crested Butte Colorado, the hotel offers cozy cabin rooms as well as two- and three-bedroom cabins for families looking for some extra space. Other highlights from the hotel include a pool cabin, a relaxing spa cabin and plenty of space outdoors on the lawn for kids to run around or play provided games like table tennis or a bean bag toss. Families can also bring their four-legged friends to this pet-friendly spot and enjoy the great outdoors with hiking, fishing, mountain biking and more.

The two runners up were Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and Verdura Resort in Sicily. An incredible kids’ club that includes a pirate ship, mocktail bar, lego room, zip line and more helped set Soneva Fushi apart. Meanwhile, the sports academies, cooking classes and A-list clientele (like Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas) are highlights at Verdura Resort.

Rounding out the top-ten list were the following family-friendly hotels:

4. Kokomo Private Island, Fiji

5. Sublime Comporta, Portugal

6. Zemi Beach, Shoal Bay East, Anguilla

7. Eagles Villas, Halkidiki, Greece

8. Constance Prince Maurice, Mauritius

9. The Lake by Yoo, Cotswolds,

10. Lucknam Park, Wiltshire, UK

Other award categories included everything from Best Pool with a View to Best Gourmet Getaway and winners featured a wide range of styles of locations.
