You Can Now Fly On a Star Wars-Inspired Airplane

Last updated 19th September 2019

LATAM Airlines Group has unveiled the first image of its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge-inspired aircraft, following the August 2019 opening of the new land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Fliers will be able to travel on an aircraft inspired by the stormtroopers of the First Order, which was designed by Disney’s creative team in conjunction with Lucasfilm, and was painted using stencils.

The ‘Stormtrooper Plane’, a Boeing 777 with capacity for 410 passengers, will begin commercial flights in October from LATAM’s hub in São Paulo/Guarulhos to Orlando, as well as other destinations including Miami, Madrid, Frankfurt and Paris.

Other Disney-themed planes that have debuted in recent years for commercial passengers include the Toy Story airplane, operated by China Eastern Airlines; the Cars airplane, operated by Alaska Airlines; and the Frozen airplane, operated by WestJet.
