Kansas City’s First Trans-Atlantic Flight

Last updated 11th January 2018

Getting to Europe from the Midwest will be a bit easier when Kansas City gets its first trans-Atlantic flight. The catch is: It’s to Iceland.

Iceland is quickly becoming a hotspot for travel, with airlines making it easier and cheaper to get to the European island. Icelandair will offer three nonstop flights to the capital city of Reykjavik each week from Kansas City (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays). The seven-hour flights are direct, but Icelandair features an Iceland Stopover where you can stay from one to seven days before continuing on connecting Icelandair flights to mainland Europe, at no additional fee.

The new flights will begin May 25, 2018.
