Colorado Ski Season Opens at Arapahoe Basin

Last updated 16th October 2017

Colorado’s long ski season is starting even earlier when Arapahoe Basin opens for the 2017-18 season this Friday, October 13, 2017. With snow already descending upon the Colorado mountains, the 71-year-old ski area is the first to officially open in the state.

“Mother Nature has been kind to the Basin,” says Alan Henceroth, Arapahoe Basin Chief Operating Officer. “It’s exciting to kick off the ski season earlier than usual, and welcome winter back to Colorado.”

Ski services open on opening day include the Kids Center, ski and board rentals, private lessons, and retail sales. Restaurants open include breakfast at Legends Cafe, lunch at 6th Alley Bar & Grill and Black Mountain Lodge, and aprés ski bites at 6th Alley.

Purchase tickets online or at the mountain. Current lift ticket window pricing (through Dec. 15) are $79 full-day adult, $67 full-day youth, ages 15 to 18, and $39 full-day child, ages 6 to 14. Kids 5 and younger ski free every day. Early ski season lift tickets purchased online before opening day are heavily discount. Visit Arapahoe Basin’s website for tickets and more information.
