Is it too early to be thinking of the holidays? No, says the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. The inn has announced its annual National Gingerbread House Competition is returning for the 25th year. Time to make plans to visit the iconic resort for the upcoming holidays.
Want to try your hand at making an award-winning gingerbread house? Applications are being accepted through November 3. All skill levels are welcome, with the grand prize winner taking home $25,000. Competitors young and old can show off their culinary skills in categories from overall appearance to originality to difficulty at the judging event taking place at the inn on November 20.
Whether competing or just visiting to marvel at the works, the masterpieces will be on display at the inn from November 26, 2017 through January 4, 2018. Besides the gingerbread houses, the entire inn will be decked for the holidays with thousands of lights and Christmas displays.
Special Gingerbread Holiday Bed & Breakfast packages are available through December 29. Starting at $301, guests receive deluxe accommodations, breakfast buffet, a gingerbread cookie, and parking at the Omni Grove Park Inn.
