Marvel Heroes Conquering Disney Parks

Last updated 28th March 2018

“There was an idea… to bring together a group of remarkable people…” and they are assembling at Disney Parks around the world. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout opened at California’s Disneyland Resort in 2017, and that was just the beginning of the superhero invasion for Disney. The biggest news is that an entire superhero-themed land will open in California in 2020 as Marvel’s heroic universe expands across the planet.

A new Superhero-themed land will begin recruiting guests in 2020 at Disneyland Resort, with even more new experiences to follow. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe at Disney California Adventure park. This new land will be anchored by the popular attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!(Disney/Marvel)

Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout and the Halloween-themed Monsters After Dark were huge hits at Disney California Adventure, and just the start of an increased super hero experience.

At Disney California Adventure theme park, families can now meet the King of Wakanda and his Royal Guards. T’Challa (aka Black Panther) and the Dora Milaje are currently granting audiences with guests along with Spider-Man and Captain America. Plus, the newly-announced Marvel super-hero themed land will be anchored by the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout attraction and stretch into what was “A Bug’s Land.” The Pixar-themed kids area will be entirely closed this summer to make way for construction of the Marvel themed superhero area scheduled to open in 2020.
