For a day of food, live music and outdoor games, bring the kids to Royal Wharf this July. Set in the East London neighbourhood overlooking the River Thames, the Summer Fete on Saturday 21st is bound to be packed with giggle-inducing moments and friendly festivities.

The event, being held in partnership with Richard House Children’s Hospice, will feature a medley of family-focused entertainment in the new Royal Wharf Park. Take advantage of the warm weather (fingers crossed!) and get involved in challenges and workshops, from hula hooping to balloon making. Transform the kids into tigers and butterflies for the day at the face-painting station, before competing in lawn activities as part of the charity Sports Day. It’ll be all light-hearted fun, with proceeds going to Richard House.

Soundtracking the day will be Das Brass Band, bringing an infectious positive energy with their renditions of well-known pop classics and brass jazz standards. There’ll also be music from Robbie Boyd who has provided support for the likes of McFly and The Kooks.

Why not have a bite to eat while taking in the tunes? A choice of seasonal snacks and drinks will be available on the day, including artisan street food and ice creams. Quench your thirst at the quirky coffee trike, or – for the adults – sip on something fruitier at the Pimm’s Bar. With all that hula hooping and running around, you will have certainly earned it!
