How to Tie a Shoelace in 2 Seconds

Last updated 8th June 2017

Forget bunny ears! The new ‘Ian Knot’, invented by Ian Fieggen (aka Professor Shoelace) will change the way your kids tie their shoes forever!

Chances are you were taught to tie your shoelaces using the ‘bunny ears’ method – and no doubt you’ve taught your kids to do it the same way.

But now a new hack is turning everything we knew about tieing shoelaces on its head. Known as the ‘Ian Knot’, the new method halves the time it takes to tie a lace and is said to be the fastest shoelace knot in the world!

The knot is believed to be the creation of Ian Fieggan – aka Professor Shoelace – who run the life hack site fieggen.com/shoelace.

At first glance the Ian Knot might look more complicated than bunny ears, but once you get the hang of it, it really is quite simple.

Not convinced? Try it for yourself…!
