If you've never skied before or you're a fanatic - one thing's for sure, arriving at the slopes by rail has many advantages, from glorious scenic routes to extra time on the slopes. If adventure is what you're after then this is the competition for you, we're offering one lucky family a seven-night holiday for four (two adults and two children) in beautiful Morzine in the French Alps from 3 April 2016 during the Easter holidays.
The specialist ski, snowboard and summer active holiday company, Alpine Elements has been operating for 17 years. They offer catered ski holidays to the best resorts in the French and Austrian Alps, starting from only £399 per person including flights. They are ABTA and ATOL members, offering financial protection for all of its package holidays - great for peace of mind!
Our winning family will stay at the contemporary Hotel Ridge, just eight minutes from the lifts and the town centre. The hotel has two hot tubs, a private shuttle to the slopes, en-suite rooms and panoramic mountain views from the sun deck. Kids love the games room and parents appreciate the ski-hire shop – the prize also includes free ski and board hire for all members of the party.
Travel will be provided by Voyages-sncf.com, and it will definitely be something special. Winners will travel by rail to Cluses (by day or overnight). The exciting overnight journey begins late afternoon at London St Pancras, destination Paris Gare du Nord. From here, our winning family will transfer to Paris Gare de Lyon, where they will board an overnight service to arrive in Cluses the following morning. Accommodation on the overnight train will be in a four-berth couchette.
Alternatively, if the winners prefer to travel during the day, they can board the train in London late morning to travel to Paris Gare du Nord. They will transfer to Paris Gare de Lyon to pick up a TGV to Bellegarde and finally change to a local TER service to Cluses (a total journey time of around seven-and-a-half hours). All in all, a great start to a ski trip to remember!
