Win a family fly-drive holiday to MassachusettsSponsored
A dream getaway
The USA’s northeastern seaboard is a treasure trove of family-friendly attractions, and nowhere more so than the wonderful state of Massachusetts, which boasts the capital of New England, the historic city of Boston.
This is where our winners will fly into to begin their fabulous eight-night fly-drive. Highlights of the city include the Boston Freedom Trail, which leads visitors through significant sites of the American Revolution and its famous Tea Party Ship and Museum. Kids will love the Children’s Museum and fascinating Museum of Science. For a spot of retail therapy and somewhere cool to eat, head to the beautiful Quincy Market. Then pop across the mighty Charles River to Harvard, America’s oldest and most famous college.
Where you’ll stay
Winners will stay at Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill for three nights, giving them plenty of time to explore. Beacon Hill is one of the most prestigious addresses in Boston, and centrally located in this very walkable city, making it perfect for families, even if your kids are still toddlers.
On the fourth day of their trip, our lucky winners will take to the road for the scenic drive to Cape Cod, a picturesque peninsula of chichi clapboard houses and glorious sandy beaches. It’s famous for its whale-watching cruises, but other family entertainment can be had on a Pirate Adventure from Hyannis harbour, while a Bog Bus Tour of a cranberry bog is a lot more fun than it sounds! The Cape Codder Resort will be your stylish home for your three nights on the peninsula.
Next stop is the beautiful island of Nantucket, much-sought-after holiday home of the rich and famous. Take the car ferry from Hyannis, and sail 30 miles south of Cape Cod to this gloriously compact island, which grew rich from whaling in the 19th century. Families will fall in love with its rose-covered cobblestoned streets and empty stretches of sandy beaches (even in high summer). Outdoor activities and fine museums abound (the Nantucket Whaling Museum is a must), along with smart restaurants and fun bars. Families will check in for two nights at the Nantucket Inn, just outside downtown Nantucket. This historic inn is a friendly and cosy bolthole, offering great ‘Moms’ Breakfasts’ and a shuttle service to the islands best attractions. It also has both an outdoor pool and the island’s only indoor pool!
