Sharp Shots' 3 top tips to take a fantastic holiday photo

Alter your viewpoint

Try taking your photos while lying down on the floor and looking up at your subject. This works well when taking an action shot of someone jumping into a pool. Alternatively, stand on a chair and shoot downwards.

Consider the light

Look where the sun is; place it behind you for even lighting, and then on the right or left for dramatic shadows. Never shoot with the sun in front of you; this will wash the colour out of your photo.

Go off-centre

Split your viewfinder into a noughts and crosses board. Place your subject where the lines intersect or just off to the side of the frame for more interesting shots.
