Fire Tech Camp for kids

Last updated 12th June 2017

Forget tennis camp… say hello to tech camp!

Fire Tech Camp gives little ones (even those with no digital experience) the opportunity to create cool digital products through a series of innovative and exciting workshops.

Whether it’s teaching kids to code, making video games or robots, or 3D-printing their own designs, the expert tutors use a fun, friendly, hands-on approach. Students will come away with original product and a renewed confidence in using tech, as well as good friends and great memories.

We sent our 9-year-old reporter, Katie Dodd, to spend a week at camp and she came away with an impressive app that invites you to take a quiz to choose your next reading book. As Katie’s experiences show, Fire Tech Camps are a great way to give your kids a headstart in our digital world.

Katie’s Day

“On my first day, I learnt where I could make my own app and planned my app. The following day, I learnt how to make the site look really good, and then in the afternoon we learnt how to make pictures and edit them so they looked right in our apps.

On my third day, we learnt how to make a quiz. It was quite difficult as it was proper coding but our instructor was very nice and helped us. On Thursday, we were finishing our apps so we could have them ready for Friday where we presented our ideas to the parents.

Looking back over the week, it was amazing. I have learnt so much. If there was one tip I could give you it would be don’t worry if you don’t know anything about computers, they will help you and tell you how to do everything.”
