Seasonal afternoon teas at The Dorchester London

Last updated 14th June 2017

A yummy afternoon tea is a lovely treat for families to enjoy together. If you’re having a day out in London, make tracks for The Dorchester, where the swish Promenade restaurant serves a range of fun, seasonal teas.

Chelsea Flower Show Afternoon Tea

Inspired by the annual Chelsea Flower Show, The Dorchester has designed a blooming lovely tea that’s like munching your way through an edible garden. Start the floral bonanza by chomping on an almond financier flower pot topped with berries, then try a lemon cremeux beehive in a chocolate sweet tart. Grown-ups can wash it all down with a flute of Laurent-Perrier bubbly.

Price
From £59 per adult and £35 per child.

Dates
Monday 18 February to Sunday 24 May

Father’s Day Afternoon Tea

If your dad needs a little spoiling, treat him to a swanky Champagne afternoon tea on Father’s Day. Adults and kids can feast on tasty cakes, crumbly pastries and perfect sandwiches, plus every dad will be presented with special gift to make him feel extra loved.

Price
From £59 per person

Date
Sunday 21 June

Wimbledon Tea

Rackets at the ready for this tennis-themed tea. It wouldn’t be Wimbledon without strawberries and cream – try a fancy twist on the classic with a heavenly strawberry champagne tart. There’s also an edible racket and ball, a mango and lime delice disguised as a grassy court, plus finger sandwiches, scones and Champagne for parents.

Price
From £59 per person

Dates
Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July

Ice Cream Tea

We all love a traditional English cream tea, and it turns out we love it even more in ice cream form. This summery take on an institution serves up four mouth-watering flavours – Elderflower sorbet, cox apple, English honey and Earl Grey tea – for a fun, frozen way to taste the traditional flavours of England.

Price
From £59 per person

Dates
Saturday 1 August to Saturday 31 August

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

This year sees the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland, so there’s no other excuse needed to jump down the rabbit hole. Kids and adults will go head over heels for the weird and wonderful tea party treats, like the coffee tonka top hat, coconut lime playing card and chocolate and strawberry handbag.

What’s more, young dancers from the English National School will plié and pirouette their way around the room during tea, joined by the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Dormouse and Alice herself.

Price
From £59 per adult and £35 per child

Dates
Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October, Monday to Friday only

Christmas Carol’s Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea gets a festive makeover come winter, when the Promenade restaurant twinkles and glints with spectacular decorations. Alongside traditional sandwiches and scones, plates will be piled with festive pastries including a fruitcake Christmas present, mince pies and a chubby little snowman. To add to the festivities, diners will be serenaded by a pianist and children’s choirs.

Price
From £69 per adult and £35 per child

Dates
From Saturday 21 November
