More Than Just Skiing in Les Gets

Last updated 3rd January 2017

Just in case careering down a mountain at full-speed with an icy breeze in your hair isn’t exciting enough, the French ski resort Les Gets is throwing an extra thrill into the mix. Its new Drop-La app is a digital treasure map that helps kids get to grips with the area by solving a series of riddles and challenges on a smartphone. The clues will lead you to undiscovered circuits, woodland walking trails and fun activities. Players get points for completing levels, which they can swap for prizes.

And who knows you might just come across the Grand Cry Territory, a Native Indian teepee village that emerges from the valley. Face painting, dancing round totem poles to funky music and zooming round obstacle courses will soon warm-up freezing fingers.

THE LOWDOWN:

Travel time: One of the beauties of Les Gets is its proximity to Geneva Airport, it’s one of the closest mountain resorts and only take an hour by car to get to.

Getting there: British Airways flies from London Gatwick from £78 per person and from London Heathrow from £120. easyJet flies from London Gatwick from £61 return, as well as from Luton, Stansted and Southend airports.
