The truth about travel planning
The fun Easter holiday concept from TUI follows new findings that just under half of British parents who plan a family holiday tend to go to the same places year after year with nearly two-thirds regularly staying in the same accommodation.
Time to shake it up folks and give something new a go! Your youngsters could be the solution to getting out of your holiday rut.
The TUI research showed more than half of parents who have let their children contribute to the family holiday admit they come up with more creative and imaginative ideas, and a further one in five confess their kids suggest destinations they wouldn’t normally think of.

Are your kids ready to get planning?
The young’uns have their fair share of opinions on the topic, too, so brace yourselves. Nearly half of six to 11-year-olds polled said they are ready for the challenge and are bored of the family jolly.
Half stated their parents should let them take charge and more than one in 10 claimed parents are too bossy regarding the family holiday destination.
Where will your children take you?
So what can you expect from kidluence? We’ll warn you now, it’s likely TV and movies will play a heavy role in most getaways planned by children.
Almost two-thirds of parents in the survey said their kids have asked to visit locations such as New York, Norway, London (Paddington) and Hawaii (Lilo & Stitch and Moana).

Nearly half of six to 11-year-olds polled said they are ready for the challenge of planning a holiday.
Alas your diminutive wanderlusters may need to face some harsh truths about geography. It emerged in TUI findings that one in three kids mistakenly think the nations of Wakanda and Lilliput (Gulliver’s Travels), are visitable and that two in five think Gondor (Lord of the Rings) – is real. Uh oh!
They may also need to face the facts of what transport is available too. Kids across the nation also revealed their dream holidays would include stays on a spaceship, in a mermaid’s underwater castle or on a pirate ship – treasure and everything.
Particularly touching were the children who admitted their ideal getaway would be anywhere their parents were. Enjoy that while it lasts, mums and dads!
