Half Term in Sussex: Arundel Castle

Last updated 3rd January 2017

PLAY AND LEARN

Half term is no reason for the kids to stop learning – take them to Arundel Castle in West Sussex and watch history unfold before you, as Normans and Crusadors do battle in the castle’s historic Keep. The exciting two-day event, from 29-30 October, features the Raven Tor Living History Group putting on a thrilling spectacle of Norman Crusaders – including authentic medieval fashion, demonstrations of combat, weaponry exhibitions, and period arts and crafts – all set against the backdrop of the magnificent South Downs. The castle’s rooms have been expertly preserved, so as well as plenty of onsite activities, you’ll find troves of historic treasures and artefacts to explore.

Opening times: Tuesday-Sunday; 10am-4.30pm. Normans and Crusaders will be doing battle in the Keep on 29 and 30 October.

The castle will close on 2 November 2014 and will reopen on 28 March 2015, so plan your visit now!

Price: £9 for children, £11 for adults.
