Family Package in St Mortiz

Last updated 3rd January 2017

What’s new? Helicopter rides, Swiss praline making courses and sledging adventures are among the new packages at St Moritz’s Nira Alpina this winter. The Swiss hotel also has its younger guests in mind with the launch of a three-night stay for families where under 12s stay for free.

Activities: After they’ve tested their ski legs on the slopes the troops can hit the newly refurbished kids’ club, which is packed full of toys, games and books. Avid skiers will love that the hotel is so close to the slopes, sitting at the bottom of Mt Corvatsch, it is connected directly to a cable car that takes you to 120km of piste.

Accommodation: For a resort that is synonymous with glitz and glamour, it’s refreshing to find a hotel such as theNira Alpina. Eschwing over–the-top grand interiors in favour of simple, local styling, the hotel blends into its natural surroundings. All the rooms make the most of sweeping views with terraces or balconies and panoramic windows.

For families there’s three sleeping options. The Corvatsch Rooms hold a cot and interconnect with each other, while the Garden Rooms have space for an extra bed and the Alpine Junior Suite has a separate area with a single bed and cot if needed.

Food: The hotel’s ‘Dine Around’ scheme is great for families, allowing guests to choose from three restaurants, a rooftop bar and – our personal favourite – the timber-built Pichalain après ski hut. Japanese, Chinese and Indian fusion menus, plus the more traditional and hearty Swiss food on offer will satisfy any tastes.

Price: Prices start at CHF 2,220 (approx £1,500) per package on a double occupancy basis for three nights. Kids under the age of 12 stay for free. The package is available from 30 November to 25 December 2013, 12 to 22 January and 9 March to 21 April 2014.
