Allure of the Seas Will Sail to the Med in 2015

WHAT’S NEW?

The world’s largest cruise ship is to sail in the Mediterranean for the first time in 2015.

Royal Caribbean International’s 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas is due to run seven-night cruises from Barcelona between May and October, 2015.

The European deployment of this new big ship will follow sister ship Oasis of the Seas running a short series of Mediterranean cruises in late summer in 2014, as well as Anthem of the Seas, which features bumper cars and a skydiving simulator, sailing from Southampton from next spring.

DESTINATIONS

Royal Caribbean’s Alllure of the Seas will sail from Barcelona to Palma, Marseilles, La Spezia for Florence and Pisa, and Civitavecchia for Rome and Naples. You’ll also have the option to join the ship in Civitavecchia for a week-long cruise starting and ending in the Italian port.

ACTIVITIES

Allure of the Seas has already been operating in the Caribbean since 2010, and features a real outdoor park with 12,000 live plants, a zipline, dual FlowRider surf simulators and a giant aqua theatre. It also has a two-deck dance hall, a theatre with 1,380 seats, an ice skating rink, seven distinct ‘neighbourhoods’ and 25 dining options including the first Starbucks outlet at sea.

THE LOWDOWN

Book: The Med cruises by Allure of the Seas go on sale this month (February 18 2014) and with all the activities and dining options on board – as well as the fab destinations – is the perfect cruise for first time cruising families.

Price: Cruise-only prices start at £799 per person for departures in October 2015.
