Arrow Discover more

An indoor city run by kids for kids is always going to be exciting, but even by their usual thrill-a-second standards, KidZania London have really outdone themselves in terms of upcoming special events over the next three months. From STEAM Week to celebrate Year of Engineering 2018 to daily prizes all of December, there’s something new happening almost every day.

And of course, whatever else is on, kids still have fascinating career choices to explore across KidZania’s massive 75,000ft² urban spread. Everything from coffee shops to cool hang-outs are in place, as always. Plus, there’s the brilliant line up of KidZania brand partners to keep working life real (and fun) for kids, year round.

So if you want to start clearing some space in your calendar from 5 October to 24 December, here’s what KidZania have planned over the next three months. Just remember to book early, because most events sell-out fast.

STEAM Week Friday 5 October to Sunday 7 October

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths, and STEAM Week is another fantastic event KidZania are hosting in partnership with the UK Year of Engineering 2018.

If you didn’t know 2018 was the Year of Engineering, it’s not too late to get on board with the government initiative to excite kids about the most inventive science. And KidZania STEAM Week is a great start. Not only is the entire event designed to bring engineering to life for four to 14 year olds, it also gives them a chance to get hands on with other scientific careers as well. So whether you want to inspire your budding astrophysicist or wannabe bridge builder, KidZania is the place to be from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 October.

STEAM Week highlights

  • Guinness World Record Live event challenges kids to beat three STEAM themed world records during STEAM Week.
  • Saturday 6 October is Jelly Belly Operation day when kids get to team up with the PDSA to examine, x-ray and remove objects from a pet patient’s slimy stomach.
  • Design and Build with the Engineering Development Trust gives kids hands-on experience solving design, build and test challenges.

KidZania Parliament Week Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 November

This November KidZania is teaming up with Parliament Week UK and inviting schools to get involved in a Parliament Week of their very own in the city run by kids, for kids.

It’s tricky to engage under 14s with politics in the abstract, so expect plenty of hands-on workshops and experiences specifically aimed at exciting young minds. All activities have been designed within the framework of Key Stages 1-3 PSHE curriculum, so there’s plenty of learning in the mix. And kids even have the opportunity to graduate with a degree in politics from the University of KidZania or vote on issues they care about at the KidZania Ballot Box.

KidZania Parliament Week highlights

  • Shout Out workshops on How to Become a Political Journalist.
  • Opportunity to study for degrees in Political Science at KidZania University.
  • Politics for Beginners workshops with Usborne Books.
  • The empowering experience of debating, decision making and voting.
  • KidZania Parliament Week on 14 and 18 November, lets kids explore political careers.
