Don your gladrags and be transported to a slick New York bar with an evening of live jazz, delectable cocktails, an extensive wine list and outstanding food in an elegant and contemporary space. Choose from an intriguing menu of all-American classics such as New England clam chowder, San Francisco cioppino, mac & cheese (available with lobster if you’re looking for a luxe upgrade!) and more. The helpful staff can help you choose a wine pairing from their impressive US wine list, or there’s a selection of beers, spirits and a signature cocktail menu that will feature seasonal specialities and quirky homages to former presidents.

The restaurant and bar ooze cool and sophistication, whilst still being inviting, cosy and (hurrah!) affordable. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the entertainment on our evening out, a pianist and jazz singer, were magical, but, whilst the service, drinks and atmosphere are all incredible, it’s the attention to detail and passion for the food that sets POTUS above the rest for a special occasion evening out. Not only do Executive Chef, Pablo Peñalosa, and his team use the best season ingredients available – evident in the flavours of each dish – but they are also committed to using sustainable supplies wherever possible. And the inspiration? Pablo’s own travel experiences and favourite flavours: “Some of the recipes have been passed down or discovered whilst travelling, and all have been perfected from personal experience and expertise in the kitchen.”

Fill your (cowboy) boots with yummy starters and mains but make sure you leave space for dessert. We personally recommend the Down Mexico Way spiced chocolate tart, a standout dish of the night that pairs beautifully with a coffee or digestif; possibly the best (and most delicious) way to finish an evening out in London.
