Two sisters and one teenage daughter on a quick city break is just as demanding as it sounds. Is Hotel Saint London up to the test? Katie Amps and her crew find out.

Saint Hotel London
Hotel Saint London makes for an unforgettable girls-only trip
When planning a little London getaway with my teenage daughter Ella and my sister, we wanted something central, stylish, and – let’s be honest – with enough room so no one was elbowing each other for mirror space. Enter, Hotel Saint next to Aldgate Station. And wow, it did not disappoint.

Rooms with views, Saint Hotel London
They call it a family suite, but it’s more like a luxe retreat
We stayed in one of Hotel Saint’s Family Suites, and let me tell you – it was the kind of hotel room that actually makes you pause at the door and say “Oh yes!”.
With floor-to-ceiling windows, views across the City, and room to spread out without a suitcase pile-up, this suite gave us all the space and calm we needed after a day exploring.
The 400-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, plush robes, and spa shower with adjustable pressure were dreamy. This wasn’t just a hotel room, it was a proper retreat.

Saint Hotel London, Aldgate Station
Hotel Saint London is a hidden gem with serious history
Sitting on one of the seven ancient gateways into London – once known as Aeldgate – Hotel Saint is a modern, independent hotel that blends the best of contemporary style with a deep connection to its historic location.
It’s situated right in The Square Mile, with Shoreditch, Spitalfields, and Whitechapel literally moments away. Think artisan coffee shops, the Tower of London, Brick Lane markets and food from every corner of the globe, all on your doorstep.
It’s also ridiculously well-connected, with Aldgate Tube minutes away, you can be zipping across London in no time. To prove it, we did Brick Lane, Oxford Street, the Tower of London, then back again, without breaking a sweat. And for tired teens and caffeine-fuelled sisters, this was definitely a win.

The Child Studio interior design is stylish, but never shouty
Designed by Shoreditch-based Child Studio, the interiors are stylish without being shouty: warm wooden panelling, mid-century touches, and a calming, neutral palette that feels like grown-up luxury. But it still feels cosy enough for a family break.
Also, with 272 rooms and suites across 14 floors, there’s something for everyone here, even us three girls just looking for a bit of London magic.

The Cardinal Bar & Kitchen, Hotel Saint London
Food glorious food at The Cardinal Bar & Kitchen
Now, let’s talk about The Cardinal Bar & Kitchen.
This place is a vibe: relaxed, welcoming, and packed with delicious surprises. We loved our lunch so much we went back for breakfast. The modern menu offers everything from Chicken Momos and Duck Bao to beautifully grilled seabass and a Nutella-stuffed cookie dough that had us scraping the plate. There’s even a charming alfresco terrace if you fancy dining in the sunshine.
The Cardinal is open all day and really does cater to everyone, families, locals and foodies alike. Plus, it’s the perfect mood after a long day, or a shopping marathon.

Would we stay at Hotel Saint London again? In a heartbeat
Hotel Saint has nailed that tricky balance between grown-up sophistication and warm, personal comfort. It’s cool enough for teens (Ella approved), luxurious enough for a special weekend, and conveniently located for pretty much anything you want to do in London.
We loved everything about it, from the massive suite and decadent food to the little touches that made our stay feel personal. Like I said, we’d go back in a heartbeat, and we’re already planning the next trip.
