Arrow Discover more

Taking place at Trafalgar Square between the 16th and 17th June, West End Live will feature a diverse programme of musical entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Watch a series of quality performances, exercise your vocal chords in sing-alongs and take part in workshops from 26 of London’s best-loved shows.

The yearly event, supported by the Mayor of London, aims to promote the capital’s cultural scene. From Mamma Mia to Les Misérables, musicals are showcased on a specially built stage to give spectators a taste of what’s on offer at London’s famous West End theatres. Entry is completely free, and with its popularity increasing year-on-year, the fourteenth instalment promises to be packed full of excitement.

For a day out with the family, there’ll be no shortage of events to keep the younger ones entertained. Kids will marvel at Disney classics Aladdin and The Lion King brought to life, as well as DreamWorks’ Madagascar – A Musical Adventure. Family-friendly exhibits will also be available in Trafalgar Square, providing an interactive experience to get everyone involved.

Alongside old favourites, there will also be the chance to catch a glimpse of West End newcomers. See appearances from Strictly Ballroom the Musical and the Olivier Award-nominated Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, all under the shadow of Nelson’s Column.

West End Live Bat Out of Hell

The entertainment doesn’t have to stop there. If the day of musical snippets whets your appetite, pop around the corner to Leicester Square to book a full-length show in one of London’s world-famous theatres. Head to London Theatre Bookings or TKTS to find last minute tickets at discounted prices.

Also being held just a short walk away is the Japan Centre’s Sample Saturday event on the 16th June. When you get peckish, take the opportunity to try out a variety of Japanese products between 11am and 4pm. If you prefer not to leave the musical action, there will be refreshments available at West End Live, and you are welcome to bring your own – although alcohol is not allowed.
