This July, introduce the kids to something new. Opening at London’s Olympia exhibition centre between the 13th and 15th July, HYPER JAPAN is a vibrant celebration of both traditional and contemporary Japanese society. With performances, exhibitions, creative workshops, and even karaoke, there’ll be countless opportunities to experience the very best of this one-of-a-kind island nation.
Take a stroll through the HYPER JAPAN Market to wander amongst over 200 specialist shops. From cakes and kimonos to toys and teapots, there’ll be authentic curiosities at every turn. If you’re looking to really get involved in the action, let your creativity loose at Japanese craft workshops, or cheer on martial artists as they showcase their skills in impressive live performances.
For technology enthusiasts, there’ll be the chance to play classic titles at the Retro Gaming area and rediscover old favourites with the family. But don’t get too caught up in the nostalgia – try your hand at a series of Nintendo Switch games to get a more modern Japanese gaming experience.
If you can find time amidst all the fun, refuel on some traditional cuisine at the Eat-Japan Food Show, where there’ll be sushi, ramen, yakisoba, and other street food favourites being served. Elsewhere, at the HARRO Food Show – a must-see for serious foodies – feast your eyes on new ingredients and explore behind the scenes of your favourite dishes. Even without the culinary adventures, with such an exciting line-up of cultural events, this weekend is guaranteed to give you a real taste of Japan.
