The long-awaited Mary Poppins Returns is full of whimsical adventure. Set in 1930s London, Emily Blunt takes the reins from Julie Andrews as the no-nonsense nanny, who returns after a family tragedy. Luxury train company Belmond British Pullman are celebrating the release of the film with their own adventure, a one-off ‘Practically Perfect’ afternoon tea trip on board a vintage 1920s steam train to enjoy with all the family.

This special train will make a round trip from London Victoria into the pretty Weald of Kent countryside on the 16th February 2019, departing 12:45pm and returning 4pm. What’s more, children travel half price when accompanied by an adult.

Families will be treated to a good old singsong on arrival at London Victoria before setting off on this memorable trip back in time – and out of London – into the pretty English countryside.

On board, sit back and enjoy a Mary Poppins inspired tea, with a selection of sandwiches made by Mr Dawes the Banker, maid Ellen’s goat cheese tartlets plus a range of delicious cakes and pastries – which are sure to be a hit with even the fussiest of eaters! Adults can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine, with fruit juice or water for the kids.

You can expect vintage luxury on board a Belmond British Pullman steam train. Each restored carriage has a different tale to tell, with art deco inspired details, an iconic name and vintage glamour.

As well as taking in the glorious green fields from the comfort of your seat, there will be plenty of old fashioned entertainment on board too. A magician will wander the carriages wowing children with tricks. There will also be balloon artists, face painters and musicians to make this train ride supercallifragilisticexpialidocious.

Prices start from £285 per person for adults and £142.50 for children under 12.
