Hilton seychelles

A true paradise island, Silhouette is home to a large and diverse range of indigenous fauna and flora, as well as rare species  like the incense tree and sheath-tailed bat.

Families will enjoy hopping on a bicycle to explore the areas beyond the resort that few ever get to see, or heading out on a guided exploration of the rainforest, one of only two in the Seychelles.

There’s also a range of water and land activities on offer, including  a tennis court, a giant outdoor chessboard, sandcastle-building and snorkelling. The view of the surrounding islands in the distance is spectacular.

Desroches offers accommodation to suit any type of holiday, from one-bedroom suites to five-bedroom family villas, all luxuriously furnished.

If money is no object, shell out for the Madame Zabre three-bedroomed villa – the most exclusive in the Seychelles – and set foot where many celebrities and world leaders have planted theirs. Listed by Forbes as one of the top 10 most remote destinations in the world, ‘getting away from it all’ doesn’t get much better than this. There is  no cellphone reception, although Wi-Fi is available if you absolutely must be in touch.

The kids’ club is open all day and includes activities like yoga, pizzamaking lessons, conservation walks, kayaking, snorkelling, kite-flying and tortoise-feeding. The spa also offers two treatments for little ones, because young guests are just as important as older ones here.

Price: The Turquoise Holiday Company offers seven nights in a four-bedroom Beach Villa from £13,280 per family of four (two adults and two children), including all meals and drinks, domestic and international flights with Etihad. Flights are easy with Eithad’s ‘Flying Nanny’ service – face-painting, puppets and origami keep little ones entertained.
