Find the perfect Sovereign holiday to fit your family

Arrow Discover more

Whether it’s spotting sea turtles on a sunset cruise or taking your toddler for their first-ever paddle in the sea, Sovereign are all about helping families make holiday memories that’ll last a lifetime. They take the time to get to know you to be sure that they’re designing the kind of holiday that you and your family will be talking about for years to come.

Personalised service

You’ll have a Trusted Family Adviser on hand from start to finish. They’ll take the time to get to know you and what you do (and don’t want), so they can make sure that everything – from the fast-track security pass at the airport, to the bottle sterilisers waiting in your room – is just right. They’ll recommend hotels and resorts, and work with you to adapt and refine your itinerary until it’s the perfect fit.

Tailor-made travel

Sovereign holidays aren’t ‘one size fits all’. Each one can be customised to suit your family, whether you’re looking at a short break to Spain or a two-week trip to Thailand. Wherever you choose to go, they’ll make sure the holiday starts the minute you arrive at the airport, with VIP lounge access (wave goodbye to waiting in noisy, crowded terminals) and private transfers to whisk you straight to your hotel at the other end.

Handpicked hotels

From the boutique right up to the palatial, every hotel on the books is handpicked and personally visited by a member of the team to make sure it meets the Sovereign standard. And while the hotels have official ratings of four and five stars, Sovereign only feature those that they deem to be of five-star standard.

With three young children, I can’t help but look at holidays from a mum’s perspective. We personally go out to see our hotels, so I’m always on the lookout for the sorts of things that parents might want to know – whether the walk to the beach is suitable for buggies, what the kids’ club looks like, or how the sleeping arrangements differ between room types.

Best for… Babies

Hotel Almyra, Paphos, Cyprus

Paphos in Southern Cyprus is steeped in ancient history. The area is famous for its friendly atmosphere, long hours of Mediterranean sunshine, and gorgeous mountain scenery.

Best for babies

Hotel Almyra thinks of everything when it comes to family holidays. They even make light work of travelling, with Baby Go Lightly, a fantastic service where your trusted Sovereign adviser can pre-order baby equipment online so it’s ready and waiting the minute you arrive. All essentials are covered from buggies to nappies, and there are lots of non-essentials too, like storybooks, DVDs and cool swim jackets. Advisers can also organise car seats for babies in the private transfers.

Another nice Almyra touch for tiny travellers is Globetrotter. Here, babies and toddlers are cared for by the hotel’s Ofsted trained nursery team and the focus is on nurturing and creative play. There’s also an excellent babysitting service available, if you want to have dinner with the grown-ups occasionally.

Good for you

Set in eight acres of lush garden, overlooking the Mediterranean, Hotel Almyra will delight design conscious parents too. The signature style is contemporary with a cool sense of light and air everywhere, from the spacious bedrooms to Almyra’s indulgent organic spa and freshwater swimming pools.

Your trusted adviser will organise car seats in the transfers and baby equipment in the rooms to make the stay with the tiny ones even easier and stress free

Best for… Toddlers

Hotel Bouganville, Forte Village, Sardinia, Italy

With its colourful fishing villages, pretty beaches and lovely Mediterranean views, the south of Sardinia is often compared to Cinque Terre and the Amalfi Coast.

Best for toddlers

From trike hire and safe cycling paths to freshwater pools and fun activities, Hotel Bouganville is perfect for toddlers, and gives pre-schoolers a gentle first taste of independence.

Even mealtimes are more like playtime here, but in a good way. Younger kids have their own restaurant with child-size tables and chairs, a menu of favourites and friendly staff who specialise in encouraging even the pickiest eaters to try the delicious food on offer. Dinner is served every evening at 6pm (long before hunger pangs turn into tantrums), and the toy train trip back to Children’s Wonderland afterwards, is another very good reason to eat up without a fuss.

Good for you

Creating a sense of privacy within a lively community is a big part of Hotel Bouganville’s appeal for families with younger children. There’s plenty of room for quiet time when you want. Villas and bungalows are carefully spaced out around pretty gardens, and pools, beaches and play areas are within easy reach – even for the littlest legs.

Forte Village is in a prime location for getting car hire. Drive along the coastline which has been compared to that of Cinque Terre and the Amalfi Coast – don’t forget your camera!

Best for… Under 12s

Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, Croatia

Medieval Dubrovnik is the best known and one of the loveliest cities on Croatia’s coast. It’s also the one to beat when it comes to crystal clear water views over the island-scattered Adriatic.

Best for under 12s

Sun Gardens Dubrovnik has everything in place for the perfect under 12’s holiday: swimming pools, sports academies, sunny blue skies, other kids to hang out with and non-stop activity on land and sea. Dubrovnik is nearby too, and adventurous days out here make great holiday memories.

The resort’s Marco Polo Kids’ Club specialises in creative play, energetic fun and all-day entertainment for under 12s. So if you want to relax in the spa or try out a new water sport, it’s unlikely you’ll be missed. And since the club is run by the well-trained, Ofsted qualified team from Worldwide Kids, you can relax completely knowing your children are in great hands.

Good for you

Wonderful as Sun Gardens is for under 12s, there’s plenty for grown-ups too; whether you’re keen on water polo or learning the traditions of Croatian cooking. Long views of the Adriatic are natural stress antidotes and, of course, Dubrovnik is irresistibly close for shopping, eating or simply exploring.

A must when in Dubrovnik is to take the funicular from the city walls up to the top of Srd Hill – you’ll get perfect bird’s-eye views over the UNESCO-protected medieval old town.
