Beaches Resorts aren’t just Caribbean family resorts, they’re Caribbean born and Caribbean owned, and that authenticity is just one of the many reasons we love them.

Lazy River, Beaches Turks & Caicos
Caribbean family resorts that are Caribbean born and bred
Almost 30 years ago the first Beaches Resort was opened in Jamaica by a local family, it’s still owned and run by the same family today, only it’s not alone. There are now two luxury, all-inclusive Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and one in Turks & Caicos. Caribbean family resorts to their core, they still share the same qualities as the original and the passion for ‘sharing the simple delights of the Caribbean’ is as powerful today as it was nearly three decades ago.
That’s not to say time has stood still at any one of these Caribbean family resorts. In fact, it’s the complete opposite, Beaches are famously innovative, from becoming the first resorts in the region to be awarded full autism-friendly certification to taking the idea of all-inclusive and making it so generous and broad spectrum it’s practically redefined the concept.
Yet, even though Beaches are officially the most awarded all-inclusive resorts ever, they remain made of Caribbean right down to their bones. And there’s no denying that’s a heritage to be proud of, and one that’s taken seriously, but it’s also worn with easy island charm and the kind of natural warmth that comes from understanding families, getting kids and really paying attention to what guests have to say, past and present.

7-Mile Beach, Beaches Negril, Jamaica
Beaches Negril, Jamaica where it all began almost 30 years ago
As we said, it all started in Jamaica nearly 30 years ago, and today the original Beaches Negril still sits on 7-Mile Beach, a stretch of pure white sand that’s so magical practically everything at the resort, from waterparks and restaurants to accommodation, is designed oceanside.
Recently renovated from top-to-bottom, Beaches Negril is all fresh on the family accommodation front this year with 100% new family rooms and suites across the entire range. That includes stunning two and three bedroom Grand Butler Family Suites which sleep up to 12 guests, as well as the elegant Eventide Penthouse Collection, with the option of three or four bedrooms sleeping up to 18. If you were wondering, yes, all Beaches resorts, are perfect for multi-gen family holidays.

Evening entertainment, Beaches Negril, Jamaica
It’s undoubtedly very tempting to never leave Beaches for your entire holiday. Not only do the resorts have some of the best waterparks in the Caribbean on-site, they also offer fully supervised kids’ clubs for babies, children and teenagers, as well as a choice of many different restaurants, and just about every water sport and land sport you can imagine – all included in the cost of your stay.
But the fact that Jamaica and Turks & Caicos are such wonderful destinations in their own right is one of the reasons why Beaches came into being in the first place. So we would highly recommend taking the time to explore.

Dunn’s River Falls, Jamaica
Why kids love Jamaica, beyond its Caribbean family resorts
Jamaica is the island for icons and memory makers, with an astonishing landscape of mountains, slow flowing rivers, dense jungle and gorgeous beaches. Of course, it’s a paradise playground for adventurous kids who will definitely want to ride down Dunn’s River Falls and spend a day on Mystic Mountain. Although seeing the cliff jumpers taking a leap at legendary Rick’s Café – just a short drive south of Beaches Negril – is a must-do with teenagers, as is a soulful sail down beautiful Martha Brae River.
Kids in the mood for haunting histories will never forget a visit to evocative Rose Hall Great House in Montego Bay. And the same can be said of a trip to Kingston, stomping ground of Bob Marley, home to the Bob Marley Museum and, arguably, one of the best places to try Jerk Chicken: obviously you’re welcome to put that claim to the test all over the island.

Beaches Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Get close to Dunn’s River Falls at beautiful Beaches Ocho Rios
Exploring just about anywhere in Jamaica is pretty easy to do, but if you want to stay right next to world famous Dunn’s River Falls, that’s where you’ll find Beaches Ocho Rios sitting on its own private beach, amid 22-acres of lush, tropical gardens.
Another made-for-families resort, this one is also made-for-golfers and, again, has a Pirates Island Waterpark, kids’ clubs, a line-up of restaurants and bars, as well as five pools – including a scuba practice pool – day and night entertainment, and spacious family accommodation with views that will take your breath away.

Another perfect beach day, Turks & Caicos
Beaches Turks & Caicos is one of the most laid back and lovely Caribbean family resorts
Turks & Caicos has a very different Caribbean vibe from Jamaica. Although it still delivers on long, white sand beaches, clear seas and vividly green landscapes, here it mixes up the natural assets with a laid back mood and an open invitation to explore and play everywhere from the colourful capital of Providenciales to the deep blue sea: divers cannot get enough of what goes on underwater in Turks & Caicos.
It’s also the perfect place for creating a lifetime’s worth of memories in one family holiday. We’re particularly taken with the idea of horse riding on the beach and kayaking through peaceful and thrillingly mysterious mangrove swamps. Kids happily slide into the easy-going mood here, right down to local fruit stalls selling fresh smoothies. And if you want to end every day on a high, we can recommend a Turks & Caicos’ sunset as the ultimate family holiday memory maker.
Beaches Turks & Caicos resort is also all about making unforgettable holiday memories, and those start with its setting on 12-mile long Grace Bay Beach: regularly named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It goes without saying that this impressive location touches on everything at the resort from the spectacular ocean-front waterpark to restaurants with sea views, beach barbecues and parties, water sports and all the outdoorsy fun children can look forward to at the Kids Camps here.

Grace Bay Beach, Beaches Turks & Caicos
New Treasure Beach is another great reason to think Beaches Turks & Caicos this year
Another great resort for multi-gen family holidays, accommodation at Beaches Turks & Caicos ranges from generous family rooms to enormous four-bedroom villas, with their own pool and butler service, sleeping up to 10 guests.
The village-style design of the resort’s accommodation is something else that appeals particularly to families, not least because you can choose to sleep in either the French, Italian, Caribbean or Key West villages, with architecture and ambience individual to each. And this year you also have the brand-new option of Treasure Beach.
The latest addition to Beaches Turks & Caicos ‘villages’, Treasure Beach is themed around the wonders of the sea, oozes coastal charm and even has its own cinema lounge, as well as three new restaurants. Of course, the cosy sense of community makes this the perfect village for families, especially as Grace Bay Beach is only minutes away and hands down the best place in Turks & Caicos to catch one of those stunning sunsets.

Sunset paddleboarding, Beaches Turks & Caicos
