4/13. Strawberry Fair

Why go?

This year’s theme at the Strawberry Fair celebrates wildlife which is a brilliant excuse to get memorable pictures of the kids in animal costumes. With great fanfare, the parade starts off from Christ’s Piece and makes its way around Cambridge. The festivities begin when it reaches Midsummer Common – a cue for the musical acts to take over with about 100 genre-bending groups lined up. From progressive indie rock to a disco band, from a trio with two harps to a jazz pop ensemble, there’s plenty here that will catch your fancy.

Also, check out the Strawberry Shorts film festival and the wild circus at the 40-year-old volunteer-run festival. Clowns, comedy, good cheer – and the festival is free. Get ready to roar!
